|Merry Christmas to all our members and a safe and healthy 2022!
Just a few items to draw your attention to!
With the uncertainty around the omicron variant , we urge you to please be cautious about attending the tennis club if you have any symptoms: fever, feeling unwell, cough, or even if you have a seasonal type cold. Continue to maintain social distancing and hand sanitising so we can all continue to play tennis.
Once the main car park has been cleared, certainly by the New Year, please could all tennis club members and visitors return to using it. Pin code 1378

Group Coaching for the new year is now online and ready to book via our website – https://www.downendandfrenchay.co.uk/ ,all groups will commence from the 4th January onwards. The coaches arranged a successful week of Christmas activities, enjoyed by everyone, which ended in ten pin bowling. A big thank you to our team of coaches, and their helpers, and most of all to the fantastic junior section of the club.
Please try to keep Thursday 24th March 2022, from 7pm free to attend and support some important items on the agenda, regarding management committee and trustees and the associated documents to be approved. Additional support for the committee is always welcome so please consider offering your help when nominations are invited.
After very many years of taking on the role of the mixed team captain, Pete has decide to step down next season, so if there is anyone prepared to take this on please contact Pete or the committee. The club is really grateful for the time Pete has spent on this and relieved to learn he is happy to continue as men’s team captain.
A great success and a massive effort by Lesley, Wanda, and those who helped prepare and clear away. Catering supplied by Rich Stadden and Kerry, was hugely enjoyed.
Thank you to all who took part and supported the event.
Once again, the club is hugely grateful to Sarah Milne, who has secured a further £100,000 Section 106 grant towards our build project. This along with the Sport England grant, of £50,000, is helping us to get closer to our target.
Just a polite reminder, if you are the last to leave, to check the outside gates have padlocks secured, main court gate to be closed. All rubbish and disused balls to be cleared away. Cabin to be locked and key returned to key safe on left wall, when facing the door.
